clients and buyers

daily

There’s a difference between your client and your buyer.

ie, the person you talk to and the person who approves your invoices.

Even if they’re the same person, it’s two different bundles of motivations and incentives.

Your client cares about how you treat them, how well you communicate with them, and how responsive you are to their needs.

Your buyer cares that you’re creating positive ROI for them.

You can be as empathetic, responsive, and dedicated as you can possibly be - and still lose the client because the buyer couldn’t make the math work.

You can also lose the buyer because you couldn’t make the client happy.

You have to do both. Which one you prioritize is situational - just remember that there’s a difference.
