My Professional Code Of Ethics
I maintain a professional code of ethics. It's human nature to follow the norms of everyone around you, even when those norms drift from your moral center. A code of ethics is a snapshot of your values that serves as a continuing reminder of who you were and who you wanted to be.
This is my way of reminding my future self of the values I want to continue to uphold.
1. I will always disclose when I identify a conflict of interest in myself.
2. I will not disclose identifiable information without prior consent.
3. I will not engage in activies that create significant negative environmental or social externalities.
4. I will offset all minor negative externalities resulting from my actions.
5. I will not engage in unethical business activities (defined broadly but not exhaustively as scams, predatory offerings, or any other deceitful activity).
6. I will not lie or otherwise misrepresent myself or my offerings in any formal negotiation, informal discussion, or written material.
7. I will honour my commitments.
