quality signals

daily

Choose your agency:

One writes software based on a popular web framework, Django. It would be easy to find other devs to hire and pick up the project later.

The other writes software based on a custom framework written in Rust, a performant but uncommon language. It would be much harder, and more expensive, to find devs to pick up the project later.

Everything else is roughly equal - cost, timelines and vibes.

Seems like an easy choice, right? Pick the one that has easier transition potential?

There’s one other factor to consider: a dev shop that uses a custom framework written in a high-skill language probably employs good developers.

It’s also possible that they overengineer everything they do. But if you need true performance and scalability, or if your project is technically complex, you may want to consider the quality signal here.

To do that, you need more information - work samples, internal tooling documentation, and ideally past client testimonials.

But that’s another topic.
