🤘 the two week horizon

daily

People should manage the next 2 weeks. Processes should manage everything beyond that.

Give your staff the flexibility to do what they need to do within 2 week blocks. This keeps organizational inefficiency at bay.

Have processes that create the scaffold for those 2 week blocks to exist. This keeps individual inefficiency at bay.

There’s a reason sprints are typically 2 weeks. It’s long enough to get something meaningful don, and people are good at holding up to 2 weeks of scope in their heads.

But without processes to create (and adjust) the long term plan, individual inaccuracy and error will cause your plan to drift.

So turn your people loose on focused 2 week efforts, with processes in place to handle the outputs.
